Go:Tech Awards set to go ahead as virtual celebration of the nation’s leading tech companies and individuals
The Go:Tech Awards has become the must-attend tech-focused business event of the year – however, with the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to make a few changes.
Like you, we have had to react to the pandemic, and this has meant that we have had to come up with alternative plans for our Awards.
The Go:Tech Awards celebrate businesses and entrepreneurs leading the way in technology and innovation across the UK. To bring you this event, we’ve collaborated with some of the country’s leading university technology departments, business incubators, and independent tech associations.
Our categories and judges have been carefully chosen to showcase and evaluate a cross-section of the nation’s greatest innovators – from daring start-ups to established thought leaders.
To ensure we continue with the event – but respect the current situation – a new schedule and timelines of milestones has been launched. Further details will be announced as the situation develops.
- Entries have opened early – and are available now!
- Judging will then take place ‘virtually’ or in person where safe to do so
- A shortlist and the winners will be announced virtually later on this year – rather than at a gala dinner held in November
- When suitable in 2021 – the finalists, winners and sponsors will come together for a celebration dinner
The Go:Tech Awards team feel it would be irresponsible to expect you to attend the dinner as usual this November and feel that this process maintains for spirit of the event and allows for businesses looking to enter, sponsors and judges to still benefit from the process.
A new category to be introduced
We understand that not every business is in the mood for celebration right now. However, we feel that the Awards present an opportunity for companies and individuals to demonstrate their hard work and success and reward their staff, during both good and bad times.
Considering this, we have made changes to our categories to reflect the current mood of the region and have also launched a new ‘Business Hero’ category which you can enter here.
This special category will honour the tech businesses and/or individuals that have reacted to the global pandemic and pivoted the way they operate to be a force for good. The independent panel of judges will be interested to find out more about how you and your business reacted to the pandemic, as well as the story behind your actions.
With 15 categories available – enter yourself and your business now! Entries are free and you can enter as many as you’d like.
Founder of the Go:Tech Awards, Andrew Scott, comments: “With the current COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the world – severely impacting people’s lives and the business community – we felt that it was right to change our Awards and entry process.
“And with the new Business Hero category, we hope to see how tech businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK have helped the region through these difficult times.
“Good luck to all entrants!”
