Snapchat unveiled as latest sponsor of Go:Tech, the UK’s leading tech awards

US multimedia instant messaging app Snapchat has been unveiled as the latest sponsor of the 2022 Go:Tech Awards.

Created by former Stanford University students Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, Snapchat launched in 2011, and now has an audience of more than 319 million daily users with more than four billion Snaps sent each day.

In Snap’s most recent earnings call it was announced that the audience grew 20% year-on-year from 2021-22, whilst revenues stood at $1.3 billion in Q4 2021 (up 42% year-on-year).

The Go:Tech Awards celebrate businesses and entrepreneurs leading the way in technology and innovation across the UK. To bring you this event, the Awards have collaborated with the country’s top businesses, university technology departments, incubators, and independent tech associations.

Adding such an esteemed tech giant to the growing list of awards’ sponsors is testament to the prestige of the 2022 Go:Tech awards, which are due to take place in May 2022.

Andrew Scott, Founder of the Go:Tech Awards, comments on the recent announcement: “We are absolutely delighted to unveil Snap Inc. as the latest sponsor for our 2022 event. Adding one of the world’s largest social platforms to our growing list of esteemed sponsors shows that this year’s event is set to be our biggest and best yet!

“With the finalists for this year’s event already announced, I can’t wait to see who will leave the 2022 Go:Tech Awards as an award-winner come May.”
