Tim Sawyer CBE is a new Go:Tech Awards judge
Innovate UK is a non-departmental public body, which operates at an arm’s length from the Government and reports to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
As part of the UK’s Research and Innovation operation, the aim is to use their circa £400 million budget to deliver world-leading knowledge and further economic growth on the global stage.
Tim’s role within the Swindon-based organisation is to oversee the newly-formed innovation lending directorate and the planned innovation loans programme.
He also heads up their plans to accelerate economic growth by supporting business-led innovations and companies within the tech and manufacturing sectors.
Following the announcement that he would be one of the judges at the Go:Tech Awards, Tim commented: “The UK is going through a technology revolution and highlighting those businesses and individuals who are making a difference is crucial in inspiring and motivating others in driving change.
“The Go:Tech Awards are the perfect platform for companies across the UK to have their innovation celebrated and admired by all.”
